Wu Shi : Lion Dance #2

(Wu Shi) or Lion Dance is a form of traditional performance in Chinese culture where performers mimic a lion's movements in a lion costume to bring good luck and fortune. It is usually performed on the Chinese New Year and other Chinese traditional, cultural and religious festivals. But I remember seeing only once in person in my whole life when I travelled a rural place. Where does our tradition go?

Tangka

唐卡 , or thangka, tangka, thanka, is a Tibetan Buddhist painting on cotton, silk appliqué, usually depicting a Buddhist deity, scene, or mandala. The paints are usually made of the minerals, diamonds, plants, rocks, which sustains its grace after centuries.
I was lucky to have met and learned from a tangka artist after I graduated from high school the summer in 2018. This is my very first tangka painting and is still unfinished because the last step will be lining which takes much more practice and meditation.
Swipe right to see how this painting comes to where it is now. The layers of paints are:
Lapis Lazuli
2 Turquoise 1&2
Turquoise 3 & Realgar + Gold
Cinnabar+Shells
Plants-made paints

Pink Cloisonné

景泰蓝 (jing tai lan) or cloisonné technique was mostly used for jewellery and small fittings for clothes, weapons. Some believed that it had spread to China in 14the century, where it was soon used for much larger vessels such as bowls and vases. 景泰 is the name of the Emperor in Ming Dynasty when the technique blossomed in China. 蓝 or blue, is the main color used in the decoration.
